Concert 4: Contemporary Chamber Music

Saturday, March 29th at 7:30 p.m.


Members of the Saint Rose Camerata explore contemporary chamber music featuring amplified instruments and works with electronics by George Crumb, Ingram Marshall and Assistant Professor Sean McClowry, plus a jazz inspired work by David Alpher.


Program:

  • Syrinx for solo flute by Claude Debussy
  • An Idyll for the Misbegotten (Images III) for amplified flute and drums by George Crumb
  • April ’94 for solo bass and electronics by Sean McClowry
  • Holy Ghosts oboe d’ amore and live digital delay by Ingram Marshall
  • Tribute to Kerouac for clarinet, tenor saxophone, piano and bass by David Alpher

Family Weekend Events Concert


The Saint Rose Camerata, faculty chamber ensemble in residence at The College of Saint Rose, opens their 11th season with a celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month. The ensemble will perform works by composers from Spain and South America. This concert is offered as part of Family Homecoming Events at The College of Saint Rose.

Concert 2: Chamber Music of the 19th and 20th Centuries

The College of Saint Rose string, wind and piano faculty and guests artists join forces to present music by nineteenth and twentieth century composers from Germany, Russia and the U.S.

  • Sonata “Undine” for flute and piano, Op. 167 by Carl Reinecke
  • Serenade for oboe, cello and piano, Op. 73 by Robert Kahn
